Organizing the trip from the start was really easy. The suggested itinerary was great. Barsha answered queries etc promptly and professionally at all times. It was a little confusing at first understanding the contact person’s role at each place. The driver’s role whether he was our guide and the local guide role. It became clear but might be helpful to just explain this briefly at the beginning or in the itinerary. Excellent in terms of being met and transferred to the hotel. We had a young man who came to collect us but had great difficulty understanding his accent. I think his English understanding is good. Only issue was that no one was at the Delhi airport to meet us on our return from Udaipur. He was at T3 and we were at T1. The company had our flight details so we don’t know why there was such a mix up. Visiting monuments like the forts, palaces, national park, seeing crafts and art, Bollywood class, Bollywood movies – loved. Diwali in Jaipur was a knockout..wow!! The food and lime sodas were amazing. We were just confused about tipping and at times felt pressurized into buying things at shops. Taj Mahal, Amber Fort, Khejarla Fort, Ranbanka Hotel, Jaipur Diwali, Udaipur were the highlights for us. The guides were enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and helpful if we had particular needs, they were all very good. Certainly we would be happy to recommend. We’d also like to give our dirver Rewat Singh a high commendation. His driving skills are excellent and he was always helpful, kind and professional. He helped us with our phone and camera issues that cropped up.
Thank you for your planning and support with our recent trip to India. It was fabulous. I must admit that I was nervous dealing with an Indian-based company but this was all put to rest when I saw a representative holding my name outside the airport at Delhi. We were very impressed with what we were able to achieve in such a short period of time. Varanasi was amazing and is amongst our best memories. It was also great to see a tiger. You were able to accommodate our pre-departure requests and provided an appropriate itinerary – including the trip to the BDM bat factory. You were significantly cheaper than a comparable product provided by our travel agent. The level of English of the guides and drivers was mixed. Some guides spoke too quickly and the level of some drivers was very basic. The hotel in Varanasi was perfectly located as it helped us experience what this town had to offer. In Delhi we were away from any attractions and in Bandhavgarh the service was excellent but the lodge had no wi-fi and was located way out of town. The hotel location in Mumbai was good if you wanted to experience iron mongers on your doorstep but not so good if you wanted to look at the high fashion shops or walk the promenade in the city – with Mumbai it may be worth asking the customer the type of location required. Although it was difficult to get there, Tordi was a very pleasant experience as we were taken on a walking tour of the town before a jeep ride to explore the farming district.
We asked for India and you certainly delivered with expertise: the flavours and aromas, the colours, sounds and sights, with each and every day offering its own superlatives. You are a highly committed professional putting in maximum effort and taking great care in providing for what the traveler is yearning. We are aware that the logistics required in so doing are significant. It was great how everything fell into place, and it was most impressive that you kept in personal contact with us. Including driver, representatives, and guides there were some 28 people who were involved in assisting to make our India tour such a success. Every one of these good folk showed a kindness, duty of care and courtesy far beyond expectation, as well as a solid knowledge of their own particular field, whether it be giving us a genuine welcome, revealing the fascinating history of the particular site we were visiting and the ways of the inhabitants, or equally important, how to safely manoeuvre through the Indian traffic! We didn’t even, ever, have to open a car door! We would highly recommend P & M to any prospective traveler to India, and indeed already have done so. Your selection of Vikram as our driver was very appropriate, as it is not easy to match up people for several weeks in a vehicle. His English was quite OK, he was always relaxed and calm, courteous and friendly, and he was a skilled and safe driver. The choice of hotels provided was probably equal to or better than expected… there was the occasional difficulty with hot water or a missing shower screen, but basically clean and always satisfactory staff service. Often we were, embarrassingly, forgetful of the name of our representative or guide, as there were many. If there was a suggestion of improvement it would only be that the consistent wearing of name tags would assist us to be more courteous. Visits to textile stores, workshops, cottage industries etc. can be a little irksome to the unwary, if there is strong sales pressure to buy, but of course, this is all part of the India experience, so we would not want to miss it. We have no doubt that the complete success of our India sojourn is largely due to you, Barsha Rani, so we off you a thousand kindnesses. If you ever find yourself visiting Melbourne or Victoria, Australia, we would be honoured to return some hospitality, and even a marsala tea!
The service and attention to detail was of the highest quality. That then resulted in a wonderful experience for the whole of the trip. The representative who met us on arrival was cheerful, friendly, and helpful. The whole time in India was very well organized and we the service we received was excellent. Many places were highlights of our trip. Three standouts – The Taj for the absolute beauty, Varanasi and the experience, the Allora Caves for ancient history and marvelling at the engineering skills. All the local guides were excellent. They were courteous, helpful, very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to look at a particular sight. We would definitely recommend you guys to our friends and family, have already done so. We were very pleased with the selection of hotels.
We were on the Golden Triangle tour. I very much liked the visit to Taj Mahal + Ranthambore. Jaipur would have to be my favourite place from the trip. I would have like an extra day here to explore the city more. I think a representative at each hotel is probably not necessary as most people are ok to check in on their own. I think to have an option of taking the train back to Delhi from Jaipur would also be good. All the way through Barsha gave excellent service and was very prompt in replying to emails. We were very well looked after and it made the experience much easier seeing as it was our first trip to India. The welcome was very good. We got in at 2-3 am so as were tired it was good to have it all organised. Definitely will recommend this trip. It has been a great introduction for us to India. And I will be coming back!
I traveled with friends to the Golden Triangle in India for a tour. I selected Parallels and Meridians as our travel agency based on their wonderful website and I am SO glad I did. Barsha contacted me and she planned a custom vacation tailored to our schedule and preferences. She arranged our schedule, hotels, car with driver and a tour guide. The trip was AMAZING. But best of all Barsha was so easy to contact during the trip whenever we had a special request or to help us out in any way. I highly recommend the company and especially Barsha as your travel specialist.
We had a great experience from our initial contact with Parallels and Meridians, to the planning, duration and the conclusion. Barsha ensured that our trip to Nepal was smooth and hassle free. We enjoyed every moment of our trip and cannot sing their praises any higher. We are looking forward to booking our next adventure with Parallels and Meridians, thank you Barsha! 🙂
Barsha is simply amazing!!!!! She was always available when we called, even after hours. She was always accommodating of our needs and she was so nice about everything! I would not travel with anyone else! I’m a client for life!
I decided I wanted something extraordinary for my 40th birthday so I decided a pilgrimage to India & Nepal might spark some inspiration from the daily grind. From the moment I found Parallels & Meridians on Instagram, I knew this was the company for me. I received prompt replies and input regarding a customised itinerary I had requested. I liked the idea of being in control to some degree of the quality of hotels we could choose from. You can pay as little or be as indulgent as one likes. No request or inquiry was too big or too small for my team of travel consultants. The guides in each city were insightful & made sure we avoided the big tour groups wherever possible. Our driver was the most gracious & competent man who ensured we arrived safe to each & every destination. The travel company went above & beyond to ensure I celebrated my birthday in opulent style & I can honestly say I felt like a queen for the day & have the fondest memories of a country that was delved into turmoil with the currency crisis the day after we arrived. The locals are so friendly & inquisitive. Besides the palaces & forts, the monkeys were a highlight for me along with the most romantic building ever to grace the planet – Taj Mahal. Varanasi ingnites the senses from deep within. I cannot wait to come back & am already planning to return in 2017. Thank you Barsha & all the staff at Parallels & Meridian, Namaste xx Holly & David Australia
Just wanted to thank you for organising our tour of India with The Maharajas Express. My mother and I were met at the airport with beautiful garlands and I was presented with a lovely bouquet for my birthday. That was really a special gesture by P&M. Plus the experience in the luxurious train was really out of this world. We were treated so royally. Thanks again for all your efforts in making our trip a very special one.
Hi P&M Team. We want to express our gratitude for the wonderful time you organized for us. We must tell you that our English speaking guides were very well qualified and went a long way to showing and telling us the best of India & Nepal. All our travel arrangements went exactly as you had arranged, and the hotels were of the highest quality. We were very sorry to leave such a marvellous experience behind, and will come back to you to arrange further visits in due course.
We had a great vacation in Rajasthan. Everything went all right, as mentioned in the program. We had good drivers and excellent English speaking guides in the places we visited. Also we had such pleasant weather, and we really enjoyed the culture in India and really savoured all the cuisines. We enjoyed doing the camel ride in Jaisalmer and of course the Elephant ride in Jaipur was simply amazing. Looking forwards to visiting India with a different destination and experience all together.
I am writing to thank you very much indeed for making our trip so enjoyable. The organisation was impeccable and everything just went so smoothly, which made our holiday all the more enjoyable. Everyone was so nice especially our driver in Kerala. We really enjoyed our stay in Cochin. Once again many, many thanks and we would certainly have no hesitation in talking about your efficient and fantastic company to anyone else it was excellent. Regards,
I have just returned from India and felt I must just write to tell you how well everything went. Your arrangements were of the highest class. Wherever we arrived there were efficient and courteous drivers and guides had the best possible knowledge. I will definitely use your company again at some time in the future and would certainly recommend you to all my friends. Once again many thanks.
