In addition, we will offer you options to choose from depending on the style of travel that suits you. You will stay in comfortable, deluxe, luxury or ultra luxury hotels depending on your budget.

A country that kept to itself, Myanmar, formerly Burma, now shares its treasures with the world. Cultivating fantastic architectural heritage sites, scenic lakes and a remarkable local lifestyle, this is a country that will overwhelm you in all ways possible. Visit the Temples of Bagan, the beautiful Inle Lake surrounded by authentic stilt houses and be a part of the 51,419,420 people living everyday in this breathtaking place.

The Burmese population is also known for their artistic side. The silk weaving, pottery, tapestry, jewelry and manufacturing of gold leaf are the know-how of the beautiful community of Myanmar. And if generosity is considered an art, then this is easily one of them as we add to the list of qualities held by the locals.

The tradition and culture of a nation lies in its festivals that are celebrated throughout the year. Here are a list of festivals you can choose from while planning your travel to Myanmar:

Thadigyut Festival of Light: This is a celebration commemorating the descent of Buddha from heaven. It is usually celebrated with candles, colored lights and lanterns with the streets sprawling with food stalls, and open air dance and music all through out the festive season. It is usually celebrated around September or October.

Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Festival: One of the biggest Buddhist festivals in Myanmar, celebrated over a span of 20 days, while parading 4 Buddha images — the fifth one is usually left behind to guard their place during the celebrations. This is usually celebrated around September or October.

Thingyan New Year Water Festival: This is the most important festival in the Buddhist calendar. Similar to their neighboring countries, Myanmar celebrates the Buddhist New Year with water for about 5 days in April.

Taunggyi Balloon Festival: The city of Taunggyi is famous for this festival; consisting of balloon competitions through out the day and night, the balloons are shaped into pagodas, animals and other objects. Fireworks are also a major component to this festival. This beautiful festival happens in November.

International Passport

For most trips, your passport will be enough. It must be valid for up to six months after your return trip. Passports can be easily obtained from your municipality, although there may be delays during holiday periods and holidays. Note that the passport is also required for children. For some destinations, it will be mandatory to send us a copy of your passport immediately after booking a trip.

There are a handful countries that do not need visa to enter Myanmar, and others that are required to have visa and can avail E-visas (online) for 28 days with the following as pots of entry:

  • Yangon International Airport
  • Mandalay International Airport
  • Nap Pyi Taw International Airport

Visa on arrival will also be available in several border check points. For more information please visit

We recommend you to get your visa 4 to 6 weeks before your arrival.

The roads Myanmar on an average are good, however it will deteriorate as you approach the villages. Floods are a common thing during the wet season.

Transport is a very significant part of your trip to Myanmar. We ensure the quality of the vehicles and the drivers are trained to show you the best landscapes, rural life, by the side of highways, and be attentive to all your requirements. The local traffic is chaotic, but you will certainly enjoy the journeys with our expert and hospitable drivers. Myanmar is characterized by a tropical climate, influenced by the monsoons:

  1. From mid-October to mid-January: dry season.
  2. From February to April: summer.
  3. From May to mid-October: wet season.

It is always advisable to do a few routine checks before traveling to any destination outside the home country. Below mentioned are a few vaccines that is recommended before traveling to Myanmar:

  1. Hepatitis A
  2. Hepatitis B
  3. Japanese Encephalitis
  4. Malaria
  5. Rabies
  6. Typhoid
  7. Yellow Fever

It’s a good idea to consult your government’s travel-health website before departure.

Credit cards & ATMs

Credit cards are not really an option here, however, small withdrawals can be done in the major cites. Currency exchange is possible at the airport and the cities as well.

Mobile in Myanmar

Tourists can buy a local sim card from the arrival terminals of all airports or at the border checkpoint. Prepaid phone cards are available in the towns, with several outlets.

The local cuisine is very simple and in some cases, looks like the Indian cuisine. In hotels and restaurants, you can find traditional Chinese dishes, Indian with a local touch or less “strong”, as well as European cuisine, particularly French and Italian. Local specialties found in the streets, we do not recommend it for hygienic reason.

Light cotton clothes are recommended while in Myanmar. It is also advisable not to wear short or widely open tee shirts. In religiously places it is best to cover yourself properly as a sign of respect.

Electrical outlet

There is no reason for you not to take your electrical items due to electrical outlets; the markets have adapters you can purchase.

The access to the internet is very controlled, nevertheless, there are many internet cafes in town. The hotels in Yangon will have WiFi.

Post the earthquake, life is still struggling in Nepal. We are helping some small shops and businesses to get into the mainstream; not by giving money, but improvising some ideas to run their business more effectively.
